The ČSSR is a member state of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation, and Mutual Assistance, also known as the Warsaw Pact, along with the Soviet Union, Polish People's Republic, German Democratic Republic, Hungarian People's Republic, People's Republic of Bulgaria, and the Hungarian People's Republic. The Warsaw Pact is a defensive alliance between the afformentioned nations.
